Santa Monica Beach is a complete beach community, with access to the beach, pier, restaurants, bars, and stores.
The beach at Santa Monica is vibrant with activity, yet different than Venice Beach, next to it to the south.
Bicycle and jogging paths, Pacific Park amusements at Santa Monica Pier, three themed-shopping areas and over 20 historic buildings are a few of the reasons parking is at a premium here.
For fishing, Santa Monica has a second "Fisherman's Pier" at the south end of the beach.
Palisades Park: along the top of the cliffs from Colorado Avenue to just north of San Vicente Boulevard has flat walkways. The rose gardens and the spectacular views of the Pacific (especially at sunset) are hard to beat.
Tour Santa Monica’s Third Street Promenade for several pedestrian-only blocks full of well-known retailers, as well as one-of-the-kind shops, plus three multiplex cinemas and a slew of restaurants, cafes and bars.

Full Facilities include Rest Rooms, Showers, a Playground, a Pier, Life Guards, and shops within walking distance.
Popular activities are Swimming, Surfing, Boogie-Boarding, Rollerblading, Fishing, Bicycling, and Walking around the beach, pier, and shops.
Pacific Park on the Santa Monica Pier is located at Colorado Blvd. and Ocean Ave. Admission to the Park is free. Rides and games are pay-as-you-go. Paid parking is available on and beneath the Pier. The park is open every day. Call for hours: (310) 260-8744
Tour unique and historic buildings and visit the museums Shop in three colorful districts. Surf, swim, sunbathe, roller blade and bike at the beach. Films from independent film makers are featured in the year-round Santa Monica Film Festival.
